Editor-in-Chief says goodbye

Laine Cibulskis, Editor-in-Chief

East Side News gave me two of the greatest gifts of my life: passion and family. From the very moment Laine Cibulskis  joined journalism my freshman year, I knew I was home.
And not only did I truly find my people, I was pushed out of my comfort zone in ways that helped me to grow into the reporter I am today.
I remember shaking hands at my first interview, oh-so nervous but incredibly excited to know more about the humanity in my fellow man and write about issues that truly matter.
My journey with East Side News led me towards the University of Missouri (Mizzou), where I will attend the fall for journalism, political science, and hopefully economics and social justice as well.
But even more so, I am incredibly proud to have been a part of this amazing team. We’ve won blue ribbons, medals, sectional, and state titles all together. And more importantly, we’ve grown as writers, photographers, designers, broadcasters, and more – all together.
Being the editor-in-chief these past two years has truly been one of the best experiences of my entire life. Thanks to East Side News, I have found my passion, and I have found my people.
I will miss all of you dearly.
