El Día de los Muertos es una celebración vibrante celebrada Nov. 1-2.
Es un momento para recordar y honrar a nuestra familia que han fallecido. Cuando es triste, el Día de los Muertos tiene mucho amor y felicidad.
El primer día es para celebrar a los infantes y niños que han pasado. Este grupo están referidos a ”Angelitos.”
El segundo día es para honrar a los adultos que han pasado.
Las familias se reúnen este día para crear ofrendas con fotos, comida, y flores de cempasúchil.
Las flores de cempasúchil son flores que se sabe que ayudan a los muertos encontrar el camino a la casa. Son conocidos por esto por sus fuertes colores y aromas.
En este día muchos comen tamales, mole, chocolate caliente, y pan de muertos.
Creemos que los espíritus de los que han fallecido regresan para estar con sus familias en este tiempo. Es una hermosa forma de celebrar y apreciar los recuerdos de nuestra familia.
Las raíces del Día de los Muertos se remontan a mucho tiempo atrás, los aztecas y otros pueblos nahuas tenían una visión cíclica del universo y veían la muerte como una parte integral y siempre presente de la vida.
Creían que al morir las almas viajarán a la Tierra de los Muertos. Luego, el pueblo nahua comenzó a realizar rituales, lo que inspiró el Día de los Muertos.
El Día de Muertos ahora se celebra en todo el mundo y cualquiera puede participar y ser parte de esta tradición.

It’s a moment to remember and honor our family who has passed away. While it is sad, the Day of the Dead is filled with a lot of happiness and love.
The first day is to celebrate infants and children who have passed away. This group is referred to as “Little Angels.”

Families come together to create an offering with photos, food, and marigold flowers.
Marigold flowers are the flowers of the dead and are thought to help the dead find their way home . They are known for this from their bright color and a strong scent.
On this day a lot of families eat tamales, mole, hot chocolate and bread.
We believe that the spirits of our loved ones will come back to be with families. It is a beautiful way to celebrate and appreciate the memories of our family.
The roots of the Day of the Death go way back, the Aztecs and other Nahua people held a cyclical view of the universe, and saw death as an integral ever present part of life.
They believed upon dying the souls would travel to the Land of the Dead. The Nahua people then started holding rituals, this inspired the Day of the Death practice .
The Day of the Dead is now celebrated all around the world and anyone can participate and be a part of this tradition.
