On Jan 7, 2026, 2,000 ICE officers deployed to Minnesota to conduct investigations and immigration searches. They eventually made their way to Central Minneapolis, where an ICE officer shot a 37-year-old American woman in the head three times before she was pronounced dead. That woman’s name was Renee Nicole Good.
Good was a prize-winning poet, mother of three children, and a devoted wife. She was born in Colorado Springs and moved to Minneapolis last year with her wife, Rebecca Good.
“On Wednesday, January 7th, we stopped to support our neighbors. We had whistles. They had guns,” said Rebecca Good on Minnesota Public Radio.
Renee Good was a loyal activist who was a part of an advocacy group callled “ICE Watch.” That day, Good was protesting in Central Minneapolis with the ICE Watch group. It is unclear why Good got in her car, but when she did, a convoy of ICE vehicles was present. Three ICE officers then got out of a car and started walking towards Good’s Honda Pilot. One of the officers started to pull on Good’s car door, telling her to get out. Another tried to block her from leaving by standing in front of the vehicle while she was still in reverse. She then starts to drive forward and is shot three times in the head by the ICE officer, Jonathan Ross.
Police reports state that it was an act of self-defense. Good’s car then crashed into multiple parked vehicles on the streets and was later pronounced dead.
There have been many conflicting reports on whether or not Good hit Ross while driving away from ICE. In a video recorded by a bystander, Jonathan Ross walked away unharmed, with no visible injuries at the time. The Minnpost then stated, “Jonathan Ross, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who killed Renee Good last Wednesday in Minneapolis, suffered internal bleeding to his torso during the encounter, a Homeland Security official told The Associated Press.” The MinnPost also stated, “The official did not provide details about the severity of the injuries, and the agency did not respond to questions about the extent of the bleeding, exactly how he suffered the injury, when it was diagnosed, or his medical treatment.”
The day that Good was shot, our president tweeted on X, stating, “It’s a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.” He then goes on and says, “ It is hard to believe he is alive. These incidents are happening because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.”
Did we watch the same video? Because, to me, that is all false. She didn’t run over any officer and was not violent; she was calm, and she was stating her rights. Renee Good did not hurt a single officer at that time. And her intent was not to hit the officer who was blocking her; it was to get out and warn others that ICE was in the neighborhood. The way he made this post all about ICE and not Renee Good is just disgusting. Can we really say he’s done anything to make America great again?
America was built on immigrants, and now ICE is sending them back to their “home” countries that some have never been to. Treating them horrifically is not helping either, just making things worse.
Trump continues to blame everything on the “Radical Left,” even though Renee was a democrat and she was the one who was shot. She was not the domestic terrorist that the Trump Administration claims her to be. She was a human, shot in the head for being an advocate for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. She deserves respect just like everyone else who lives on this planet. She didn’t deserve what happened to her, and neither did the other people who ICE has killed.
Renee Good was not the first person killed by ICE. More than 50 people have been critically injured and killed by ICE Officers in 2025 alone. More than 30 others have killed themselves in the detention centers where they were placed.
On New Year’s Day, a black American father named Keith Porter was killed by an off – duty ICE officer. I bet this is the first time you’re hearing this. It wasn’t as big as Good’s story, when it should have been, and that is because he was a person of color. Censoring stories like this is unjust.
Who knows how many people ICE officers have killed, and it’s not on record. People do not deserve this type of treatment from uneducated, mediocre humans. What kind of training do ICE officers have to go through if they think it’s okay to shoot an unarmed woman in the face three times? And what is even more insane, there are ICE officers out there who are abusing and mistreating their own kind. How could you do that to someone, let alone someone of your own race? It breaks my heart that these degenerates have no sympathy or empathy, let alone our own president.
We need to come together. We need to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. The list of individuals who have died from ICE officers and treatment in detention centers is severely long when there shouldn’t even be a list. We all bleed the same color. ICE is out of control, and they do not have the right to treat others like this.
Johnathan Ross could have shot the bullet anywhere but her face to make Good stop. They could have shot her tires, her mirrors, anywhere but her face. It was so cruel to think it was okay to do that. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a terrorist group and needs to be stopped. It was created in March 2003, and it can be abolished in 2026.

It’s devestating of the reailty that this contry has come to. The lack of media represtation is dispicable and how the youth is very uneducated when it comes to these issues. The fact that a highschool news site has more information then anything on the airwaves is just unacceptable. What happend to Renee Nicole Good was horrid and should be a wake up call to every person in the country. The fact of the matter is that this happens to people everyday and the media does nothing to honor those victims. They only report on what they think is trending and not what matters most.
R.I.P Renee Nicole Good and every other victim I.C.E
