Nicole Zafiratos took her first steps into senior year with confidence and excitement for her last chapter at Plainfield East High School. Zafiratos stepping into her senior year felt like the end of her high school career and the beginning of a new chapter. She is ready to move on from high school and is prepared for everything college has to offer.
Zafiratos was involved in many extracurricular activities during high school, including Girls Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis Manager, and Tech Crew for the Spring Musical.
When asked how these activities impacted her high school experience, she stated: “I met so many amazing people who I know I can count on and never lose.” She notes that her peers have shaped her into a more versatile and balanced individual.
Zafiratos also mentions how these people “made me feel like a normal high school student, as in I am involved in stuff and school doesn’t feel like school when I am at tennis or tech.”
High school can be a tedious experience for many students, but luckily, Zafiratos, with the help of so many great friends surrounding her, was able to find it enjoyable.
After she departs from East, Zafriatos will be pursuing psychology at Illinois State University. Zafriatos expressed her excitement for college and for the opportunities that ISU has to offer her over the course of the next four years. Zafriatos is sad to see high school draw to a close, but is ready for everything that college throws her way.
